FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything couples ask us before they buy.

What exactly do I get?

A short web address of your choosing — wedl.ink/your-names — that forwards to any page you like. Put it on your invitations and your guests reach your wedding website, photo album or RSVP form in one tap. You can change where it points at any time, without reprinting anything.

Can I change where my link points after I've printed it?

Yes — that is the main reason to use one. Log in, paste a new address, and every invitation, menu card and sign you have already printed starts pointing somewhere new within seconds. A QR code printed on paper keeps working too, because the code encodes your wedlink and not the final destination.

How long does my link stay active?

A free link runs for one month, and you can renew it yourself as often as you like — we will never take a name back from you because you did not pay. If you would rather stop thinking about it, €9 once keeps up to three links live for two years, which covers the whole run from save-the-dates through to the thank-you cards.

What happens when my plan ends?

The link stops forwarding and shows a short, friendly page instead of a browser error. Your name is not released straight away — we hold it for a grace period, and one click renews it for another month at no cost.

Why would I need more than one link?

Most couples end up with three destinations: the wedding website, the RSVP form and a shared photo album that only becomes relevant after the day. Giving each its own memorable address means you can print the right one in the right place instead of sending everyone to a single page they then have to navigate.

Do I get a QR code as well?

Yes, for every link, as both SVG and PNG. Use the SVG for anything going to a printer — it stays perfectly sharp at any size, from a place card to a welcome sign. Our QR code generator is also free to use on its own, with no account and no watermark.

Someone already has the name we wanted. What now?

Names are first come, first served. Adding your wedding year or your surname almost always finds something just as good — niclas-und-caro-2026 or niclas-und-caro-mueller read perfectly well on an invitation. The availability checker suggests alternatives as soon as it finds a clash.

Is this a subscription?

No. The free tier costs nothing and renews only when you click renew. The two-year plan is a single payment of €9. Nothing charges automatically, no card is kept on file, and we will not email you about upgrades.

What do you track about our guests?

Almost nothing. We count how many times each link was opened and roughly where the visit came from, aggregated by the hour. No cookies are set on your guests, no IP addresses are stored against a visit, and nothing is shared with anyone else.

Do our guests need an app or an account?

No. They type the link or point their phone camera at the QR code and arrive where you sent them. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for, which matters for the guests who are least comfortable with technology.

Can I use this inside my own product?

Yes. API Access lets wedding platforms and planners create and manage links programmatically for their own customers, including white-label redirects on your own domain. There is a documented REST API and a Skill file your coding agent can use to integrate it directly.

What if it isn't right for us?

Start on the free tier and find out before paying anything. If you did pay for the two-year plan, write to us within fourteen days and we will refund you in full, no explanation needed. Your statutory right of withdrawal applies on top of that.
